About Charlie May Coffee and Tea:

Annie and Ari discovered their passion for cold brewing in their cozy Oakland apartment in 2021. What began as a simple gesture to share coffee with loved ones during a time of global pause blossomed into a thriving venture steeped in their humble beginnings.

Inspired by their Guam and Philippines heritage, Annie and Ari curated a unique array of flavors celebrating the rich tastes and ingredients native to their ancestral lands. Drawing from the wisdom passed down by their grandmothers, Charlotte Ann and Ana May, they crafted recipes that evoked the cherished flavors of their childhood.

The name “Charlie May” pays homage to these beloved grandmothers, whose kitchens were not just places of nourishment but also sanctuaries of cultural heritage and cherished memories. These kitchens, where the aromas of delicious meals mingled with laughter and stories, remain a cherished haven for Annie and Ari.

Driven by genuine care, a sense of community, and a touch of grace, Charlie May Coffee & Tea House is more than a business—it’s a tribute to heritage and a commitment to crafting quality, health-conscious beverages that bring people together.

About Young at Heart:

I’m a senior citizen, and I love making jewelry. While my creations have evolved over the years, I still like the simpler styles. Traveling through the South Pacific, and Asia on a sailboat, and backpacking through South America. I have learned many techniques enabling me to create art with my beadwork. The joy of using beads and string, wire and glass, or making clay or paper beads, is relaxing and fun. Technology and YouTube have given anyone who wants to learn jewelry making the opportunity to do so. It is an interesting hobby and I encourage you to give it a try! Recycle some of those old jewelry!
