The villages of Talofofo and Inarajan present a, ‘True Southern Guam Hospitality Experience’ on April 2nd & 3rd off of Route 4 and the Talofofo River and Bay. We will be inviting all to experience adventure from 11:00 am – 5:00 pm both days and celebrating with a Grand Prize drawing Sunday, April 3rd at 4:00 pm.
The Valley of the Latte River Festival will be dedicated to showcasing the best the southern villages have to offer. Over 20 contemporary artists from the villages of Yona, Talofofo, Inarajan, Merizo, Umatac, Agat, and Santa Rita will have their chance to present their arts and talents to all visitors and will be found around the Latte Dock. Local farmers will be selling the freshest produce grown right in our backyards of the rich southern volcanic soil around the Nipa Dock. We also have the privilege of welcoming 10 schools in an effort to support the Visual Arts, Dance, Weaving, Singing, and all aspects of our well rounded students to be found around the Saddok Dock.
With over 50 exhibitors, the River Festival provides a wonderful learning opportunity. The Valley of the Latte Adventure Park provides knowledgeable tour guides that can share the history of the Talofofo and Ugum Rivers. Learn about the local wildlife while you feed and care for our binadu and his friends. Find out more about the erosion and other issues that affect the southern part of our island. Then, when you are ready for some great adventures, you will be able to take a cruise on the Adventure River Boats, visit the Animal Sanctuary, and tour the Ancient Chamorro Latte Site and Botanical Gardens. While at the Adventure Park, you may even want to pay a nominal fee and sign up for one of the additional re-imaginered attractions: glide over river waters with some StandUp Paddle Boarding, share the adventure with a friend and some Adventure Kayaking, create life long memories at our Fishing Adventure, master the Talofofo Bay with Surfing Lessons, enjoy our Southern Island Adventure Tour, and ride on our friendly Karabao.
Along with amazing activities, cultural experiences, and educational exhibits visitors will be provided a beautiful day under the sun and some amazing food. Beyond the mouth-watering fiesta plates, we will be offering Hot Dogs & Burgers to complete the festival ensemble around the Ko’Ko Hut and Fishing Adventure. If things start to warm up a little, Ice Cream, Shaved Ice, and refreshing beverages may be purchased at the Latte Gift Shop.
After 2 whole days of breath taking experiences and the best of our island, the Valley of the Latte Adventure Park wants to give one lucky visitor a Grand Prize on Sunday, April 3rd at 4:00 pm. You do not have to be present to win. However, you will have to visit 35 of the Festival’s booths and get signatures to verify your patronage. Once at the 1st Annual Valley of the Latte River Festival, you must collect a total of 35 signatures; 10 Artists, 10 Farmers, 10 Schools, and stop by the Mayor of Talofofo’s booth, the Mayor of Inarajan’s booth, the Ko Ko Hut Cantina, the StandUp Paddleboarding booth, and the Latte Gift Shop.
