There are places on Guam that don’t just exist on a map — they live in memory, in saltwater, in stories passed from one generation to the next. Talofofo Bay is one of those places.

From early-morning surf sessions to river gatherings, from family cookouts to quiet sunset reflections, Talo’fo’fo Bay and the river have shaped countless island experiences. Now, our friends at Mighty Island are working to capture that legacy in a powerful community documentary — and they’re calling on the island FAM to help.

 

🎥 A Documentary Rooted in Community

Mighty Island is collecting:

  • Video clips

  • Photos (old and new)

  • Surf memories

  • Family gatherings

  • Events at the bay or river

  • Everyday moments that define the vibe

Whether it’s grainy camcorder footage from the 90s or a phone clip from last weekend, your story matters.

Selected submissions may be featured in the film — and screened at the Guam Museum, giving this project both cultural weight and long-term archival impact.

At the Valley of the Latte, our mission has always centered on:

  • Protecting land and water

  • Celebrating family

  • Sharing culture through lived experience

Talo’fo’fo Bay and the river are not separate from that story — they are part of the same living ecosystem. The river that flows through our valley connects directly to the ocean beyond. The families who visit our park often have their own memories tied to the bay.

This documentary is more than a film. It is:
