Festival Update: Standing Together After Super Typhoon Sinlaku
At the Valley of the Latte, our hearts are always rooted in community—both here at home and across the islands of Micronesia. Today, we share an important update regarding our upcoming event.
Due to the impacts and damages caused by Super Typhoon Sinlaku, we have made the decision to postpone the Valley of the Latte River Festival: The Flavors of Micronesia. The festival will now take place on May 16th.
Giving Back Through the Festival
While we were looking forward to celebrating the vibrant cultures, traditions, and flavors of our island communities, this moment calls for something even more important—care, compassion, and solidarity.
Standing with Our Island Neighbors
Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by the storm, especially our brothers and sisters in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) and throughout Micronesia, including Chuuk State. We know that many families and communities are facing difficult days ahead, and we stand with you.
The strength of our islands has always been found in unity—in the way we come together in times of need, support one another, and rebuild with resilience.
Giving Back Through the Festival
In that spirit, the Valley of the Latte is committed to helping where we can. A portion of the proceeds from the River Festival will be donated to support relief efforts for those impacted across Micronesia.
This festival has always been about more than celebration—it’s about connection. And now, more than ever, it is an opportunity for us all to come together in support of one another.
Looking Ahead to May 16th
We remain excited to welcome you on May 16th for a meaningful and memorable gathering filled with:
- The rich flavors of Micronesia
- Cultural performances and traditions
- Local vendors, artisans, and farmers
- A shared experience rooted in heritage and community
As we prepare for this new date, we do so with intention—honoring both the joy of celebration and the responsibility we have to support our region.
Stay Safe
We encourage everyone to continue prioritizing safety and to lend a helping hand where possible. Whether through donations, volunteering, or simply checking in on loved ones, every act of kindness matters.
We look forward to gathering together soon—stronger, united, and full of gratitude.
Si Yu’os Ma’åse’ for your understanding and continued support.
